SARDINIA is a mobile application dedicated to promoting tourism in Sardinia. The app’s guiding principle is
interaction with users, to inspire their motivation to travel, provide them with information on holiday
themes and places of interest and accompany them, through the use of multimedia and georeferenced
content and useful services, during their travel experience.
The app originates from a visual identity and an editorial study linked to specific image, branding and
marketing choices. The choice of the name SARDINIA increases the diffusion of the SARDINIA brand, also
addressing international markets.
The app is functional and innovative with regard to diversification and completeness of content, aimed at
different audiences based on their multiple interests, to facilitating the exploration of content, with simple,
intuitive and immediate search and use methods and to graphic interface and navigation, which have been
based on the most modern application design trends and on the guidelines of iOS operating systems.
The app offers a customisable viewing and browsing experience, thanks to the creation of a personal
account with which you can enhance your data and exploration preferences; it enhances the holiday
experience through the georeferencing of contents; it represents a reference point and support in all
phases of the journey, from the choice of destination to follow-up:
- before: the app inspires the motivation to travel to Sardinia and offers tourists who have already
booked their trip useful information for planning their stay, itineraries and events, etc.;
- during: it offers information and guidance during the travel/holiday experience, certified by the
possibility of territorial exploration on a georeferenced basis;
- after: the sharing of experience, linked to the degree of satisfaction, is a decisive factor in directing
choices, facilitated through integration with social media channels;
The app is made up of sections of content, which can be explored in different ways - map,
experience/category and searching - and through dedicated functional tabs:
- BRAND, the content regarding a theme that crosses all types of content;
- WHERE TO GO, which includes the destination ‘locations’; the Attractor content is linked to this
section, meaning the geo-localised points of interest with associated 3D, 360 and virtual tour
multimedia content, photo gallery and cover video, references to other content and nearby
accommodation facilities;
- WHAT TO DO, where the activities and experiences offered by the destination are collected;
‘Inspirational’ content, editorial articles that deal with specific issues linked to travel experiences
and points of interest are associated to this section;
- ITINERARIES, thematic routes linked to one or more points of interest;
- EVENTS, occurrences or recurrent events linked to particular periods of the year;
- ACCOMMODATION FACILITIES, hotels and non-hotel accommodation, located throughout the
island.
The interaction with users/tourists is based on the map and the relative points of interest. The various
functions allow you to choose and structure your holiday experiences. Browsing takes place in various
ways:
- geolocation for an experience based on proximity;
- by means of the brands that characterise the distinctive features of Sardinia;
- through trends (inspirational in the spotlight);
- by means of the calendar (for the events).

events based on the date and on the map; searching; multilingual; push notification; splashscreen;
accommodation facilities that can be filtered, by browsing the map or by proximity; support for further
